Nominations are now open for the NAHN Illinois 2026 Awards, honoring outstanding NAHN-IL Nurse and Student Members who make a meaningful impact in our communities.

This year’s awards include:

Luz de Liderazgo
  • This award honors a NAHN-IL member who shines brightly through their dedication, vision, and commitment to guiding others. Like a beacon of light, this individual inspires, empowers, and paves the way for progress within Hispanic communities and the
    nursing profession.
  • This award celebrates a nurse who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in healthcare, advocacy, or professional development. It recognizes a member who leads with purpose, mentors and uplifts future generations, champions equity, or embodies the spirit of hope and determination.
  • Their work reflects the highest standards of innovation, collaboration, and service, making a lasting impact on both the nursing profession and the communities they serve.
Corazón en Acción
  • This award honors an individual whose volunteerism exemplifies compassion, dedication, and a deep love for community.
  • Through their selfless acts, this individual brings NAHN-II values to life—demonstrating that even small actions, when done with heart, create lasting impact.
Pétalo Award
  • This award honors a nursing student who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to their education and a strong commitment to serving the Hispanic community.
  • The recipient of this award demonstrates immense potential for leadership and excellence in the nursing profession. Through academic achievement, community service, and a passion for healthcare equity, they embody the values of NAHN-IL and represent the future of nursing leadership.
