This position will assist the Manager of Clinical Operations in providing administrative and clinical leadership on all shifts. The Assistant Clinical Manager will help plan, coordinate, and manage personnel and resources to provide the highest quality patient care with trained, professional, and competent staff in the most cost-effective manner.  This role will also assist in the provision of ongoing educational and professional development of staff.  In conjunction with the manager, the Clinical Operations Assistant will collaborate with physicians and other health care disciplines to assure optimal patient care, patient outcomes, customer satisfaction and resource management.

  • Ensures daily operations oversight of evening and night shift.
  • Coordinates all the patient care on the PM and NOC.
  • Ensures and manages safe staffing volumes for PM and NOC shifts.
  • Provides visible leadership presence in Main OR and Surgery Center via consistent rounding.
  • Covers Charge RN duties, when necessary. 
  • Provides scrub and circulation duties, as needed.
  • Point person for troubleshooting after 5PM.
  • Assists as resource point person On Call Main OR issues.  *ASC is closed on weekend.
  • Assists with Timecards and responsible for assigned group of team members, including assigned performance reviews.
  • Support daily huddle messaging/initiatives.
  • Ensures quality, safe patient care.
  • Models behaviors that demonstrate an environment of open communication and teamwork.
  • Holds self and staff accountable for completion of mandatory employment requirements in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and APN/Educator
  • Investigates safety reports assigned by manager.  Takes appropriate action on safety events on PMs/NOCs.
  • Identifies opportunities to facilitate Evidence Based Practice.



  • Nurse, Registered (RN)

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 3-4 years' clinical experience, in Operating Room environment, strongly preferred
  • CNOR Certification strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong clinical skills. Ability to communicate effectively and work cohesively with a diverse work group. Utilization of critical thinking in timely decision making.
  • 1-yr demonstrated leadership experience.
