JOB OPENING - Home Care Aides, Full-Time and Part-Time,

Home Care Aides are at the heart of the services ASI provides its clients. We seek

candidates that are kind, compassionate, honest, and responsible to represent ASI

and provide quality, supportive home care for our clients. You may be able to care

for a loved one, learn critical care skills, and get paid if you meet state eligibility

requirements. Bilingual Spanish/English is strongly preferred.

Essential Functions

• Follow a care plan for the client and report on completed tasks

• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)

• Be able to lift moderate weight

• Be able to climb stairs and access all types of client homes including houses,

apartments, high rises, mobile homes and work spaces that may include small

confined rooms to large spaces on different levels

• Have enough range of motion for frequent bending and stretching

• Be able to rotate and position bed-bound clients

• Provide routine house cleaning and be and stand 90% of the time

• Prepare meals

• Laundry

• Escort client to doctor’s office, grocery store, and complete other essential errands

• Assist client with the self-administration of medications (no administering or

measuring)

• Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition

• Promote ASI's image and legacy as the leading home care provider in the Chicago

land area

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old

• Pass a criminal background check

• Pass a pre-screening interview with ASI's HR Department

• Be a legal citizen of the United States or have a valid work permit

• Provide three acceptable work references

• Have a nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others

• Effective written communication and interpersonal skills

• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized

• Honest, responsible, and willing to serve others; professional and thoughtful

• High School Diploma or GED, or two years of equivalent experience in lieu of

education requirement
