Clinical Assistant Professor, Nursing (APRN)

The School of Nursing, in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Northern Illinois University, invites applications for an anticipated clinical track faculty position at the assistant professor level in its nursing program to begin August 2020.

The successful candidate may instruct at either the undergraduate or graduate level. The position will teach a diverse student population and may include online course delivery and travel to off- campus locations, as well as university and professional service and student advising. The nursing program offers a B.S. in Nursing through pre-licensure and degree-completion programs, an M.S. in Nursing with specializations in Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Educator, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.


The successful candidate will:
• Have a DNP (applicants who are scheduled to complete their degree by August 15, 2020 will be considered);
• Be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois;
• Have national certification as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and at least 3 years of clinical nursing practice experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP).


Those candidates who have successful university-level teaching experience will be given preference.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
